I went shopping on the 2nd of January with good intentions. I have a couple of birthdays to buy for in January so I was supposed to be looking for presents but I got bored as one of them is very difficult to buy for so I ended up buying things for myself instead. Oops!
I needed face wipes for the odd occasion I use them to quickly remove mascara. Usually when I'm drunk! Boots had their own Fragrance Free wipes on at 3 for £3 so I chose those. Whilst in the skincare aisles I decided to pick up a few more cheap items. I've been loving glowing skin recently so when I saw the Garnier Moisture Match Revitalising Hydrating Gel for Dull Skin for £1.99, I thought I'd see if it was any good. Finally, I liked the sound of the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz as I like a good spritzy toner and I love rose!
I knew that Real Techniques had launched their new Bold Metals collection into Boots that day so I thought I may as well check them out in person but the brushes were nowhere to be seen on the usual Real Techniques display. I then spotted a sales assistant holding a few and asked where they were. They were actually quite hidden, on a tiny display pushed right up against the weighing scales. I had to barge in whilst someone was weighing themselves and grab as many as I could. I honestly didn't plan to buy any of these as they are quite expensive, priced between £10 and £25 for each of the seven brushes in the range but I got carried away. I'm a sucker for a new product.
I ended up snapping up every variation they had! I came away with the 201 Pointed Crease, 101 Triangle Foundation, 300 Tapered Blush and the 200 Oval Shadow. I love all of the metal colours but I did end up spending a lot on these! I actually got the Zoeva Rose Gold brush set for Christmas off my fiancé and I thought those were expensive but I paid more for these four brushes! I know, I'm really bad! I still really want the Rose Gold contour brush as that one looks the most different to any other brushes I own...
Once I start getting a bit spendy, there's no stopping me so I headed straight to Space NK where I seemed intent on buying something, anything! I decided to get the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Terre Neuve as it's had me curious for some time now. I've heard so many great reviews of it and it seemed to appear in a lot of 2014 favourites so despite my previous worries of even the lightest shade looking slightly too dark, I decided to just buy it anyway. If all of the other lightest shade base products from NARS are perfect for my skintone, maybe this will be too.
Being a NARS lover, I felt like I needed to try something else new from their range. I went with their Pressed Powder in Flesh as it seemed like a great powder. I guess it's a slightly boring purchase but it's what I fancied at the time.
The final makeup purchase of the day was from Superdrug and it was the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in Iridescent Gold. My next blog post will be about this so watch out for that!
Whilst browsing the homeware section of Primark they had a little 'Spring 2015' section of bedding so I picked up the 'Island' bedding as it's quite different to anything I have already. I like that it's reversable so I can have more of the white showing or more of the blue.
What can I say?! I'm a sucker for dog related things! I couldn't leave this french bulldog tea towel on the shelf once I'd seen it! It was only £1 and it's super cute! I think I feel a little bad about using it to dry dishes though...
So hopefully I haven't started the year as I mean to go on. I really do need to save!
Although there may be a Charlotte Tilbury haul coming soon. Just saying...
