Well this post is a bit late! I've had these photos on my laptop for 2 weeks so sorry it's taken so long to get this post typed up!
In April, I was loving adding a little colour to my lips. These three lipsticks all featured in my Spring Makeup Picks for Lips so check out that post if you fancy seeing some swatches. The Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya is a gorgeous peachy orange shade that looks glossy on the lips and is so easy to wear as you can apply it quite sheer or build up the colour for a brighter lip. The Clarins Joli Rouge Brillant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick in Coral Tulip has a similar buildable finish that is also shiny. I just love this orangey coral shade so much! I've also been loving MAC Lipstick in Pink Pearl Pop, a gorgeous mid toned pink. This is in the Cremesheen finish so it's actually quite similar to the others in that you can wear it sheer or build it up. It has a bit of shine too but not as much as the others.
While I'm on the topic of lips, I should mention the lip balm I've been loving. It's the Josie Maran Argan Lip Treatment which you may recognise from my first Sephora haul. How cute is the packaging?! It reminds me of a little genie lamp! The product itself is a pale creamy pink colour that looks like the rather expensive By Terry Baume de Rose and even the Dior Creme de Rose. I haven't tried either of those but I have lusted after them a lot! This leaves a juicy looking shine to the lips and a very sheer wash of colour that makes your lips look nice and healthy. I quite like the scent too. It's a bit like those sour apple Chewits but not too overpowering or anything! I wouldn't say it's quite as nourishing as the Nuxe Reve de Miel lipbalm but it's pretty good. I definitely like the finish of this one more.
I bought the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Extra Light Bisque last year on a mission to cover my dark circles. For some reason, this plus the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit stayed in my drawers untouched until recently. I'm really glad I tried this properly though as it's really good at cancelling out the dark blue colour under and around my eyes before adding concealer. I thought this would be really cakey but it's not, it's fairly easy to warm with your finger and blend around the eye area.
Another product from my first Sephora haul is the Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction Leave-In Hair Perfector. Wow long name eh?! I think I saw this on a blog or vlog a long time ago and heard good things so it's always been on my radar but I didn't buy it. I went for it on one of my crazy Sephora buying missions though and at first I didn't really think much of this. I didn't notice a difference in my hair and thought it was a bit pointless really. However, I persisted and I tried using a bit more product. Like originally I was using 2 or 3 pumps but then I started using about 5 or 6 pumps and I really noticed the difference. This makes my hair so smooth and it looks in much better condition when I use this. I love the added heat protection bonus too.
I bought the e.l.f. Stipple Brush whilst they had a 50% off code as I fancied trying it for cream blush. I think it does a great job at picking up the right amount of cream blush and it blends it perfectly for a natural finish on the cheeks. It's really soft and I haven't noticed any shedding so far. Looking at the brush you can see it's not as good quality as Real Techniques but I haven't noticed any problems so I'm happy.
Another makeup brush I've been loving is the Real Techniques Setting Brush. Whilst I've been trialling the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit, I was using this brush for applying the powder under my eyes and it's the perfect size for getting into that area. It doesn't apply too much powder either so that's good too.
Some amazing products from my second Sephora haul are the Make Up For Ever HD Blushes in the shades 210 Cool Pink and 215 Flamingo Pink. I've been getting a lot of use out of these over the last month. I find them both to be really natural shades that give a nice pop of colour on the cheeks but don't look too over the top for daytime wear. They are really creamy and easy to blend. I love the finish on the cheeks too as they aren't really powdery or really dewy so it just looks natural. You can see swatches of these in my Spring Makeup Picks for Cheeks post.
Another cheek product I've been loving is the Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Radiance Face Powder. This is a beautiful peachy, glowy highlighter. This gives a radiant look rather than a glittery one and as my skin is so pale, I can get away with using this as a subtle blush if I want. I would imagine that it would suit most skintones as a natural looking highlighter though.
My final favourite is the Sleek i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in Vintage Romance. I bought this ages ago but didn't get round to trying it until April. I'll be honest, I've only tried the shade Court in Cannes (third from top left) but I love it so much! It's the first time I've tried Sleek eyeshadow and it's fab. It's a gorgeous shimmery, cool bronze shade that suits my pale skin. This is really pigmented and has a buttery texture. I definitely need to try more of the shades in this palette when I'm feeling more brave and I've already bought another Sleek Eyeshadow palette which will probably be in my May favourites!
Hope you've enjoyed seeing what products I loved using in April.
