I was tagged by the lovely Louise from Lou Lou Land to do 'The One and Only' tag. This means if you could only have one of each type of product, what would it be and why? I thought it would be fun as I don't normally do these kind of posts. To see the products Louise chose you can check out her blog post here.
I haven't tried a lot of primers as I'm more into buying pretty, colourful makeup but out of the ones I've tried I like the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer best. It's very lightweight and makes your skin feel very smooth. It creates the perfect canvas for your foundation to glide on to.
Although I've really been loving the bareMinerals Original SPF15 Foundation lately, my long term love is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF15. It has really good coverage and leaves a flawless finish. It's even better now that it comes in lighter shades as my NC15 was a touch too dark.
I don't tend to wear powder that often anymore but when I do, I go for my Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Transluscent Powder which I've had for years. It does a good job at setting my foundation, taking away any shine and not looking cakey. I've always been rather tempted to try one of the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals though...
I've tried a lot of concealers in my time for trying to hide my pesky dark circles and the best one I've found so far is a recent purchase. It's the bareMinerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener in Luminous 1. It's peachy tone really helps brighten my eye area and it feels really cooling on application.
Blush (Cream or Powder)
It was pretty hard to narrow this down to one product but I've went for my most used cream blush which I actually haven't been using lately. Need to get back into this as I love it! It's the Topshop Cream Blush in Head Over Heels, a gorgeous peachy, orange shade that is so easy to blend into the cheeks for a beautiful pop of colour.
Being a pale girl, it's not often I wear bronzer but one that's great for my skintone is the Bellapierre Mineral Bronzer in Peony*. This is a shimmery bronzer that's not orange and it is very blendable for a natural, glowing look on the skin.
My favourite highlighter is the Topshop Highlighter in Crescent Moon. It's a fab champagne gold colour that is perfect for pale skin.
Up until last month I would have chosen the Sigma F80 brush as it is great for applying liquid foundation. Now that I've tried Real Techniques brushes, my new favourite is the Buffing Brush. This is even better at applying liquid foundation and leaves me with a flawless finish. It's so soft too.
Another bareMinerals product here and it's the Flawless Definition Mascara. This is the perfect mascara for me as I love having defined lashes and this makes them totally clump free. It is also great for lengthening and volumising.
I'm really bad at applying eyeliner so I rarely wear it but I recently discovered the L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black* and it's amazing. It's pretty easy to apply and looks so nice.
I don't fill in my brows or anything like that but I use the Collection Colour Lash mascara in Clear to tame and smooth my brows down.
My favourite and most used eyeshadow is 'Sin' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I use this pretty much every day as an all over lid colour that's easy to do in the mornings before work. It's a shimmery, nude kind of shade that goes well with my skintone. As you can probably tell, 'Virgin' used to be my favourite! I should really experiment more with the other colours in this palette.
Lipstick, Lip Gloss or Lip Stain
I'm going to cheat on this one as I have a lot of lip products! Until recently, I was more of a lip gloss girl but over the past year or so I've bought a large amount of lipsticks! MAC lipsticks in general are my favourite lipsticks as they have so many different shades and finishes. My most worn lipstick has to be a limited edition MAC one called 'Watch Me Simmer'. It's a gorgeous coral-red shade with an amplified finish. My favourite! Smooth and pigmented in one swipe.
I'm going to pick a second favourite as I also have quite a few Revlon Lip Butters which are like a mixture of lipstick, gloss and balm in one. They tend to be easier to wear than lipstick due to their glossy finish but they have great pigmentation like a lipstick. My favourite shade is 'Cotton Candy', a shimmery pink shade.
I don't own a single lipliner so I can't really answer this one. I am quite tempted by some of the MAC ones but to use as an all over colour rather than to outline my lips.
This one is easy, it's the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. I love how moisturising it is and it has a nice citrus scent.
Essie is my favourite nail polish brand and I am always adding to my collection of those as I love the formula, colour range and even the wide brush as it makes for a great, quick application. My most worn colour is a coral one called 'Peach Daiquiri' so if I could only have one, I'd have to choose that one!
I'm not going to tag anyone in particular to do this post but if you would like to do a post like this I'd love to see which products you would choose so please feel free to send me your links :)
Which products would you choose as your 'One and Only'?
