I have quite fine hair and an oily scalp so I'm always on the look out for products that add volume and thickness to my limp locks. For ages I've fancied trying Phyto products for fine fair so when I had a little trip to Space.NK earlier in the month I decided to pick some up. In this post I want to share with you a great trio of products that I like to use in my routine to maximise the volume of my hair.
Phyto - Phytovolume Volumizing Shampoo (£11.50 Space.NK)
I love the aluminium cans that Phyto house their shampoos in, I think they look really stylish in your bathroom! It can be pretty difficult to dispense the product since it's not a squeezy bottle and screwing the cap back on after use is also a little tricky. I guess it's hard to see how much product you have left as well. I don't mind this too much though! The shampoo itself doesn't have a massively strong scent, it just smells clean to me. It lathers up nicely and really cleans my hair and scalp. A lot of shampoos can irritate my scalp and I often feel like I have build up left but this shampoo makes my scalp feel really comfortable and clean.
Phyto - Phytobaume Volume Express Conditioner (£14.50 Space.NK)
I don't normally like using conditioner for fine hair as it tends to be really thin and doesn't really add any moisture to my hair. Despite my roots being oily, the ends of my hair can get dry so I need a good conditioner to help with this. This conditioner is really good as it's quite a thick consistency but it doesn't weigh the hair down at all. It detangles my hair nicely and after using both the shampoo and conditioner my hair feels thicker and more volumised. I like to blow dry my hair with my head tipped upside down for a bit of extra oomph!
My third weapon of choice in the follicle fattening crusade is this fab hairspray. I got this small size free in Elle Magazine this month but you can buy this mini size from Boots too. It's basically like a blow dry spray that you mist throughout your hair to create extra thickness. When I first sprayed this, I managed to spray it all over my shoulders and arms by mistake and I noticed that it felt really sticky. I was worried it would make my hair sticky and crispy but you actually can't feel it in your hair. I really like using this spray so I'm glad I picked it up whilst it was free. I'd definitely buy the full size of this as I think it's that good. I really want to try more Bumble and bumble products like their shampoos and conditioners, especially from their 'Surf' range.
