John Frieda - Full Repair Range

This post is about a selection of products from the John Frieda Full Repair range. This range has been created to repair the look of overstyled hair and provide weightless volume. My hair is fine and has breakages due to heat styling and colouring so this range is definitely suited to my hair type!

The entire range is presented in rich red packaging which gives it an expensive look. The key ingredient of these products is Inca Inchi oil which is full of omega 3.

Full Body Shampoo

The shampoo comes in a generous sized 250ml bottle. First of all I like that it's a squeezy style bottle where the product comes out of the bottom making it easy to use all of the product up.

I love the scent of the shampoo as it's a very calming, clean smell which is very enjoyable to use. It's a thick liquid so you only require a small amount to produce a lot of rich lather. It feels like it's quite moisturising on the hair without leaving a greasy residue.

Deep Conditioner

This product comes in a thick plastic pot allowing you to scoop out the amount you need to cover your hair. I would use this a few times a week in place of the regular conditioner to give your hair an extra special treatment. You only need to leave this on for 2-5 minutes for it to work it's magic and repair your damaged locks.

This isn't a super thick mask like some deep conditioners I've tried but it still feels like it's really nourishing your hair. It's so easy to brush my hair after using the combination of the Full Body Shampoo and Deep Conditioner!

Perfect Ends Sheer Mist

As the name suggests, this is a lightweight mist you spray into wet hair before blow drying. This will protect your hair from further heat damage as well as making your hair look smooth and shiny.

I sprayed this product into the length and ends of my hair and blow dried as usual. This means tipping my head upside down to create a bit of volume and finishing with my head straight to smooth the hair down.

I was so impressed with the combination of these products as my hair was volumised but felt super light. I've been using other volumising products which seem to make my hair feel all sticky which I don't like but there is no stickiness with the Full Repair range.

Not only did this provide some well needed body to my hair, it also left my hair looking so healthy. I haven't had my hair cut for a while and this made the ends of my hair look freshly cut and smooth. Also normally I have to use straighteners after blow drying as the layers at the back of my hair get messed up, especially after tipping my head upside down but my layers were actually sitting perfectly for once!

I would definitely recommend this range for adding body and strength to your hair without weighing it down. You will be amazed at how good these products are :)

I need to head to Boots and stock up on some more goodies while it's 3 for 2! Any excuse ;)

Montagne Jeunesse - 4 Week Mask Plan

Montagne Jeunesse is a brand that nevers fail to amaze me with their fab natural beauty products especially their face masks. I often buy these as they are easy to get hold of nationwide in stores such as Boots, Superdrug, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and even New Look!

They are also an absolute steal starting at £1.09 and I always notice a difference in the appearance of my skin. I've tried several expensive face masks from the likes of Elemis and they never give as good results as Montagne Jeunesse.

Here's a little line from Montagne Jeunesse to show their products are great for most people even those who prefer to seek out natural products:

All our products are vegetarian-approved, made from natural ingredients and paraben-free. Montagne Jeunesse is proud of its uncompromising natural credentials and ethos for ‘Conservation of Energy, Protection of Animals and the Environment.’

Montagne Jeunesse have devised a four week plan to get your skin in tip-top condition. It's perfect for those who only have a short amount of time once a week for a bit of pampering.

This mask contains spot fighting ingredients such as aloe vera, rosemary and willow to combat all of your unsightly blemishes.

This is a thick, off-white clay type mask that smells very fresh and herbal. This was a pleasant mask to use and it actually stopped a big spot I could feel under my skin coming to the surface! My skin also felt very clean and soft after removing this mask.

This bright green peel off mask contains lots of cucumber and citrus to help refresh the skin and remove impurities.

To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to using this mask as I hate, hate, HATE cucumber! To my surprise, this didn't actually smell like cucumber at all. There was a very strong lime scent, in fact, it smelled like lime and vodka! Haha. After peeling off this mask, all the yucky dead skin cells were gone and fresh, smooth skin was revealed. Amazing!

A slightly different mask than I'm used to here. This one is a scrub based mask containing spearmint and menthol to cleanse and tone along with dead sea crystals to renew the skin.

This mask was light blue with sea salt sized grains in it. You need to spread this one onto a damp face and massage in before waiting the usual 15-20 minutes before removing. I loved the spearmint scent of this one and it felt extremely cooling and refreshing on the skin. After removal my skin felt super cleansed, exfoliated and smooth. There was no dryness to my skin at all thanks to the almond and jojoba oils in the mask.

The last mask is a hydrating mask full of anti-oxidant rich blueberries and cranberries to help keep your skin looking young.

I love the colour of this mask, it's like a pearlescent violet colour which looked a bit like bubblegum stretched over my face! Probably a strange description but it was my favourite mask out of the 4. This gorgeous fruity mask was very soothing on the skin and it doesn't dry on the face so it's a bit easier to remove than the clay type masks. As expected, my skin was left feeling clean and hydrated.

Hope you enjoyed my reviews :) Please let me know which one takes your fancy!

Current Wishlist

I've been trying not to buy too many products at the moment so I'm building up a bit of a wishlist. I'm probably gonna end up going crazy and buying half of this stuff in one go!

So here's what I fancy:

Bare Minerals Original SPF15 Foundation in Fair
I've wanted this for a while now. I don't tend to wear foundation on a daily basis, I save it for nights out but I'm sick of having my spot scars on show all the time. I've been thinking this might even out my skintone without feeling heavy on my skin.

Essie Nail Polish in Cascade Cool
After falling in love with Essie polishes recently, I want to expand my collection. This one is from their Summer collection so I'm thinking I should really pick it up asap to make sure I get it as it's a beautiful colour.

Benefit They're Real Mascara Anniversary Set
This is a mascara I've been thinking about trying for a while and because it's the anniversary of the product launch, you can get a mini version for free with the regular sized one. I think that's a great deal.

Benefit Go TropiCORAL Lip and Cheek Set
This seems like a fab little set and a great way for me to try out the lipgloss and Cha Cha Tint. I already have the blush and High Beam in a set I got a while back but they are really good so I wouldn't mind doubling up!

REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask
Beauty bloggers have been raving about this product a lot lately so I feel like I need it too! I've never tried REN skincare and I think this would be a great first product to try.

Dr Jart+ Platinum Beauty Balm
I've tried this on my hand several times in Boots and I really like it. It seems like a great colour match for my pale skin and it seems like great quality as well. I've read a few good reviews on it so I'm rather tempted to buy it!

Origins United State Toner
This is a product I thought about trying years ago but ended up buying a different toner instead. After reading about this on Liparazzi, it's reminded me about this and I really want to buy it now.

MAC Lipstick in Morange
I never even thought about buying this shade until I saw it on Anna's blog and it's really made me want to try it. I swatched it on my hand today in town and it looked lush.

Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo
Another favourite of Anna! My hair gets greasy really quickly so I fancy trying this to try and make my hair look better for longer. I've been using more hair products lately so I probably need something to detox my hair anyway.

Essie Nail Polish in Mint Candy Apple
This probably won't be the best polish for autumn but I don't really do dark shades anyway! I need this in my collection and I'm sure I saw a website that used Penny Talk and this together and it looked nice so I could maybe try that combination.

So that's my wishlist and looking back, most of my wishes are down to seeing the products on other blogs (especially Anna's!). Ah well, we all enable each other I guess!

What's on your wishlist?

Bronzed Pale Skin

Last week I posted about the free gift 17 Cosmetics are giving away when you spend £5.99 or more. I mentioned that I don't tend to use bronzer as I'm super pale so I feel like it's too dark for my skin.

This evening I decided to try all of the products in the Get Bronzed kit to see if they would work with my skintone and I was pleased with the result.

I already knew I liked the shades of eyeshadow and lipgloss so it was the the bronze cream blush I wasn't sure about but as long as you apply a small amount at a time it looks great. I dabbed a little on to my cheek and blended with a Sigma stippling brush (F50)

Products used:
  • 17 Blow Out Mascara in Black
  • 17 Bronzed Cream Blush
  • "Smog" from the Urban Decay Naked palette
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Porcelain
  • 17 Eyes eyeshadow in "Statuesque"
  • 17 Ultimate Volume lipgloss in "In The Nude"
  • MAC Select Cover-Up concealer in NW15
  • Benefit The Porefessional primer
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in "Lucky"
  • MUA Clear Mascara for the brows

So not only was this a brilliant freebie, it's also shown me that I can wear bronzer without looking like I've been tangoed!

Did you pick this freebie up? What are your favourite bronzing products? Let me know :)
