More Naughty Spending

Happy New Years Eve!

Hope you're all having a great time whatever you are doing :)

I just can't help myself, I went into town AGAIN today and spent more money!

Here's what I bought today...

I got these Yankee Candles in Christmas Cookie and Vanilla Lime for 87p each from Clintons Cards. I've been wanting to try Yankee Candle for ages so glad I eventually picked some up. I really like the scent of the Strawberry Buttercream ones so I will go for those next time. I fancy getting one of the glass jars.

I've been keeping an eye on the Philosophy gift sets in Boots since Boxing Day and eventually found them for half price today. I picked the "Fun in the Frosty Air" set containing 3 shower gels.

I really like their shower gels but when I bought a big version I got sick of it so I'm glad to have some more mini ones. These are a good size at 180ml. I can't really tell you what these smell like as I don't want to open the foil seals but when I opened the box to take the photos an amazing aroma crept out so I'm sure they are all lovely.

My last three items are clothing. I don't know about you but I don't think the clothing sales have been that great this year. They just look like jumble sales selling clothes from years ago! I purchased all three items in Dorothy Perkins which seems to be my favourite clothes shop at the moment. I buy most of my "going out" dresses from here.

I'd been looking for some slightly longer tops suitable for wearing with leggings so that's why I grabbed all three of these while I could.

Dorothy Perkins £22.00 £17.00

Dorothy Perkins £22.00

Have you managed to find any good clothes in the sales? Or are you more like me and can't be bothered to trawl through the junk to find the good stuff? Send links to your hauls :)

Sleek Pout Polish in Frosting and Raspberry Rhapsody

Hello again!

I fancied buying a few more Pout Polishes as I love the Peach Perfection one I bought a while back. Today I went for Frosting and Raspberry Rhapsody.

L-R: Frosting and Raspberry Rhapsody

These "tinted lip conditioners" are perfect for adding a sheer glossy colour to the lips whilst providing moisture and sun protection. They smell amazing too - just like vanilla :)

L-R: Frosting and Raspberry Rhapsody

They are only £4.29 so I fully recommend trying them out if you spot them in Superdrug.

As I said in my last post, please excuse my flawed complexion! I don't wear foundation during the day, just on nights out and I didn't want to put a full face of makeup on for this post!

Do you love Sleek Pout Polish? Which is your favourite shade? Tell me in the comments box :)

Barry M Lip Paint in 154 Pale Nude

Hey beauty lovers,

I included this product in my previous haul post but I thought it deserved a post of it's own so I could show you a bit more.

This is the latest Barry M Lip Paint shade and it's the first one I've ever purchased. I've been looking to try a nude lippie for a while so as it's only £4.49 it seemed like a good one to start with.

First of all the packaging kind of reminds me of NARS as it's a matte black colour.

I really love the colour of the lipstick, it's really easy to wear as it's not too OTT. A very good thing in my case as I'm slowly introducing myself to lipstick! It glided onto the lips nicely and didn't feel too drying in the short amount of time it was on my lips. I did slick a little lip balm on before I applied the lipstick though.

Here is a photo of me wearing the lipstick. Excuse the chin spots/scars! I don't really wear foundation through the day so unfortunately you will have to see all my flaws...

Have you managed to get hold of this lip paint? What are your favourite nude lipsticks? Let me know :)

£25 Makeup Haul

Hi everyone.

I popped into town to look for presents for my brother's birthday but ended up buying myself a few goodies too - oops! I decided yesterday I need to cut down on buying beauty products for a while but it somehow slipped my mind ;) I did get quite a bit for £25 though so it's not all bad!

All of my products are from Superdrug. I never used to go in Superdrug as I've always favoured Boots but I've started going in to look at some of the brands you can't buy in Boots. I still haven't spotted any Look Beauty yet, hope we get a stand in my local Superdrug soon!

Here is what I bought today...

  • Barry M Lip Paint in 154
  • Accessorize Peony Union Jack Eyeshadow Palette
  • Accessorize Blush in 5 - Sensation
  • Sleek Pout Polish in Frosting
  • Sleek Pout Polish in Raspberry Rhapsody
  • Barry M Limited Edition Nail Polish in Lilac Foil
  • Accessorize Nail Polish in Fudge
  • Barry M Nail Polish in Pink Iridescent 264

I first went into Superdrug as I really wanted some more of the Sleek Pout Polishes as I love my Peach Perfection one. Then I happened to see that Accessorize still had a free eyeshadow palette when spending over £6 so I had to choose another one to add to my collection. I still haven't tested the one I got in my last Superdrug Haul!

These are the colours I got in this palette:

I was quite happy to pick up another Accessorize Nail Polish as I love the one I have on now from my last NOTD. I actually got complimented on it today when paying for something in a shop. I was rather chuffed about that! Fudge is a nudey pink sort of colour. I don't have many nude shades in my collection so I'm looking forward to using that.

Speaking of my collection.. after today's haul I now own 76 nail polishes! Quite a scary thought! So back to today's polishes - I'd been looking at the glittery pink Barry M one for a while and since I was buying the new Barry M Lip Paint in Pale Nude 154 I chose the pink one so I could get the Lilac Foil one for free! As you can see, I love a good freebie :D

Have you been naughty and made some more purchases even though you got loads of stuff for Christmas? Please say you have and make me feel better ;)

MUA Immaculate Collection

Evening All.

I just got round to opening the MUA Immaculate Collection Pallete I got free from Superdrug a few weeks ago.

Here are some photos of the palette and some swatches.

Front of palette

Back of palette

Left side of palette

Right side of palette

First row - Shades 1 to 8

Middle row - Shades 9 to 16

Bottom row - Shades 17 to 24

This is the first time I've tried MUA eyeshadows and I'm impressed. There are a few chalky matte shades but most of them are lovely satin finish shadows with great colour payoff. It's excellent value and even more so if you can pick one up for free!

If you are interested in this palette I noticed on Twitter that the MUA website are still offering them free with purchases of £8.00 or more until 3rd January.

Have you got one of these palettes? What are your thoughts?

NOTD - Blue with a hint of Gold

Hello everyone.

Just painted my nails so thought I'd pop on a few photos!

I used two coats of Accessorize Nail Polish in shade 42 Electric Blue on all of my nails then a coat of Essie Lux Effects in As Gold As It Gets on my ring finger nails.

It's my first attempt at doing the ring finger look! I'm happy with it as it's just a subtle layer of gold shimmer over the ring finger nails.

This is also my first time using an Accessorize Nail Polish and I'm very impressed. It's a gorgeous colour. It contains loads of shimmery particles. They are mostly blue but in some lights you can see hints of purple in there. I love it! It dries quite quickly and provides a smooth application too.

As I mentioned in my prevous Essie Lux Effects post that polish also goes on smoothly as it isn't a glitter polish, it's a shimmer so doesn't leave a gritty feeling on the nail!

I spent quite a long time last night removing my Deborah Lippman Razzle Dazzle polish so I couldn't be bothered with another glitter nail just yet!

If you are interested in buying the Essie Lux Effects I spotted 3 shades of it on Beauty Bay for only £7.50 here. I paid just under a tenner for it so it's a good saving really.

Have you been taking photos of your nails? Been wearing a lot of glitter polishes over the festive period - love the look but hate the removal? Send links to your NOTDs :)

Bye for now,
Suzy

Post-Christmas Sales Haul

Hello beauty lovers,

Fourth post tonight - I'm on a roll!

Thought I'd pop up some photos of the stuff I've bought in the last two days. Don't you just love it when gift sets are 50% off :D

Boots

I've been wanting this Marc Jacobs Oh Lola perfume for a while so I'm really happy to get it for £25.00. I love the design of the bottle.

I picked up a few Hello Kitty items. I'm sure I saw these on someone else's blog so I blame them for my spending ;)

Got a lovely phone case which I may or may not use haha. It was reduced to £4.00.

I got this cute little set of lip tints - only £3.00! They are lovely colours and smell so sweet and tasty! Definately worth picking up if you see them.

The Body Shop

I'd been looking at the Candied Ginger products before Christmas but held off buying anything. I managed to get this shower gel for £2.00 so that's good. There were quite a few reduced items in there so worth a look if you like their stuff.

John Lewis

I'd been looking forward to seeing what Philosophy sets they had reduced. Unfortunately there were only two types of sets left - this Marshmallow one and a set of four lipglosses. They were both £9.00 though so be quick if you want anything! There weren't many left in the Newcastle store. Last year I got a Philosophy set like this one for Christmas that contained coconut macaroon scented products so I just know I'll love this one too.

I also bought another perfume set. This time YSL Parisienne. It smells lovely - like Parma Violets! I saw this in an online sale yesterday and since I have an obsession with Paris as I really want to go there in the Spring next year I had a feeling I would get this today. Glad I really like the scent. I got this for £25.75.

I managed to avoid buying any more Elemis products, phew! I love them too much and want everything!

Have you been to the sales? What bargains have you picked up? Post links to your hauls if you like :)

Christmas Presents Part 3 - Makeup

Good evening bloggers,

Here is my third and final Christmas Presents post. This one is about the various makeup items I received from my Mam and Fiance. Still my choices though :)

First up we have the Benefit Porefessional Primer. I once had this demonstrated on me in Fenwick and I really liked it but I always like to read up about products before buying them! I saw this going a bit cheaper on ASOS a while ago so ordered it for Christmas. I don't really use primers but this even made my makeup free skin look great when I had the demo at the Benefit counter so I thought it was worth splurging on. I've recently seen Anna on Vivianna Does Makeup loving it so that's always a good sign!

I finally got some NARS products after lusting after them for a while. Here's what I got:

Lets have a closer look at the products! I got a little sample of NARS Eye Makeup Remover when ordering from the NARS website. I also got a 8ml sample of Orgasm Illuminator from using a Newsletter voucher code. It's definately worth signing up to the
NARS website to get those! I'm certainly looking forward to trying that cult product. The lipstick was bought from a sale on the ASOS website. It's in the shade Venice which is a lovely sparkly pink. This set was bought from the NARS website:

It's called the "Yorokobi Super Orgasm Set". The mini products are all in the shade Super Orgasm. The Blushes and Lipglosses are the products I've wanted to try most from NARS so glad I have those and I love the shade too.

My final makeup item is a Mascara set by Estee Lauder. I've been on the market for a new mascara and when I saw these sets with the free eye makeup remover and Advanced Night Repair Eye I really wanted one of them! I went for the Sumptuous Extreme Mascara which is for "Outrageous Volume" - bring it on :D I'm looking forward to trying the Advanced Night Repair Eye as I've been thinking about getting some for a while but it's rather expensive and I didn't want to waste my money if I didn't like it.

What makeup goodies did you receive for Christmas? Have you picked up anything in the sales?

Christmas Presents Part 2 - Elemis

Hi again!

Part 2 of my Christmas Present posts brings my Elemis goodies. I LOVE Elemis! My first present is another Today's Special Value from QVC. As soon as I spotted this I had my fiance getting out his debit card as it was too good to refuse!

This is the "Elemis 5 Piece Tranquil Indulgence Face & Body Collection" and it was only £39.96. I added up the value of the products, which are all FULL SIZE(!!!) and it came to over £150 so you can imagine how chuffed I am with this pressie!

This set contains:

  • Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser 150ml
  • Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 30ml
  • Frangipani Monoi Body Oil 100ml
  • Tranquil Touch Indulgent Bath Elixir 300ml
  • Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream 100ml

I've tried some of these products before and love them. The cleanser is lovely and I've almost ran out of my current bottle. This is worth £27 alone which is over half what this set cost in total! Amazing! Its very luxurious and leaves the skin clean, soothed and soft. The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is also great. I've been using a 15ml sample so it's lovely to have a nice pot of this.

The Bath Elixir smells gorgeous and I also already have a sample of this. The sample I have is 100ml and every time I've used it I felt like I poured loads into the bath and the bottle was nearly empty but somehow it magically fills back up again when you leave it to stand! Brilliant!

The Body Oil sounds amazing and I love a good hand cream so can't wait to try that. The hand cream isn't available to buy until February 2012 so I'm lucky to be trying that out!

I also have a few more Elemis goodies. There was a deal on in Debenhams where you could get 5 (out of a choice of 10) travel size samples for free with two Elemis products.

I already needed some more Apricot Toner and I asked my Fiance to buy me Skin Buff as I'd been wanting it for ages so I got to choose 5 goodies. I already had some of them so I chose things I hadn't tried before:

  • Tranquil Touch Body Cream 50ml
  • Tranquil Touch Creamy Body Wash 50ml
  • Pro-Collagen Lifting Treatment Neck and Bust 15ml
  • Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream 15ml
  • Melting Cleansing Gel 20ml

I'm especially looking forward to trying the Melting Cleansing Gel as I've been eyeing that up for a while.

Going off these last two posts I shouldn't be buying any skincare for a while! Please remind me of this when the pretty packaging starts attracting me to the shelves after New Year! Haha

Are you a fan of Elemis too? What are your favourite products?
